What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient system of holistic medicine that originated in India over 3,000 years ago and is often called the “science of life.” It views health as a balance between the body, mind, and spirit, and emphasizes prevention as much as treatment. To restore harmony, Ayurveda uses a variety of practices including personalized diet and nutrition, daily and seasonal routines, herbal medicine, detoxification therapies such as Panchakarma, and mind–body practices like yoga and meditation. Still widely practiced in India and increasingly popular worldwide, Ayurveda is recognized for promoting overall wellness, disease prevention, and natural healing.

Spear & Arrow are looking to expand our offerings, from a supplier in India that will provide us with organic products that have massive health benefits.

Jack Fruit- is a large tropical fruit with sweet yellow flesh when ripe and a fibrous, meat-like texture when unripe. It is high in fibre, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants, and offers health benefits such as aiding digestion, supporting blood sugar control, promoting heart health, boosting immunity, and helping with weight management. While nutritious, it should be eaten in moderation by people with latex allergies, kidney problems, or those monitoring sugar intake.

Cacao Nibs- are small crushed pieces of roasted cacao beans, known for their rich chocolate flavor and crunchy texture. They are packed with antioxidants, fibre, magnesium, iron, and flavonoids, which can support heart health, improve blood flow, boost mood, and provide long-lasting energy. Their fibre aids digestion and helps with satiety, while their antioxidants protect against cell damage and inflammation. However, because cacao nibs naturally contain caffeine and theobromine, they should be consumed in moderation, especially by those sensitive to stimulants.

Papaya- is a tropical fruit with soft orange flesh and a sweet flavor, rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, fibre, and antioxidants like lycopene. It supports digestion through its natural enzyme papain, boosts immunity, promotes healthy skin, and may reduce inflammation and support heart health. Its high water and fibre content also aid hydration and digestion, though people sensitive to latex or papain should consume it with care.

Once we receive these products from India we will then begin to start our trials and will keep you all up to date with the progress. Our commitment to providing you with the best natural alternatives for many ailments is still our priority.
