Over the past 3 weeks I have been following Dr Kelly Ann’s Bone Broth Diet with a protocol of 5 days eating a variety of foods with no carbs and gluten but fat burning ingredients from the recipe book and 2 days a week fasting on bone broth alone.

Five Spear and Arrow followers also took part in the challenge in which we provided them with 5 pouches of bone broth and a copy of Dr Kelly Ann’s 21 Day Bone Broth Diet book.

My first week was tough, although I fasted quite often before taking part in this 21 day diet, with the longest I had fasted being 18-19 hours. On this diet it was more like 35 hours fasting i.e. 9pm Monday night to 8am Wednesday morning.

Week two was a bit easier, I was not as hungry especially the days after fasting. I was not ravenous on waking as much as I was during week one. Week two, people were commenting on my complexion and my glowing look, and my bloated belly was not so obvious.

Week three I had a bit of a blip as I had my mums 70th birthday celebrations which meant I did not lose weight this week. Eating cake and Tiramisu should be avoided!!

Getting back on track this week I have lost 9lbs in total and definitely feel better for it. I have started swimming again and feel less lethargic.

Although the diet is extreme and I would find it hard to stick to all the time, I have decided I am cutting out bread, pasta and rice for a while and I will continue my 2 days a week of 18 hour fasting. I have also made the decision to follow this diet every few months to detox my body.
